Here's How to Find Your Dream Career
By Troy Boyd
Everyday millions of people go to jobs that they can't stand, with bosses that they can't stand, and do exactly what they can't stand doing. In a word, this life sucks. So hopefully in this article I can give you a bit of advice on how to find your dream career.
Have you ever gone to work, and as you're supposed to be working, sat day dreaming about something that you'd rather be doing instead. Things such as fishing, quilting, building a new deck? Maybe even some other job title such as being a doctor solving medical cases that will save someone's life.
Perhaps you've wanted to be a firefighter since you were a child but just never had the time, or even the guts to apply for the academy.
I'm going to assume yes since you're reading this article. While you're wondering how to find your dream career you're life is ticking away while you sit at a job doing what's not satisfying you. So we must hurry and get you that dream career.
Want to know something? It's really pretty simple in theory. You should strive to find a career in something that you're passionate about. Are you interested in health? Are you a sports fanatic? Are you someone who loves to watch the "CSI" shows and try to solve the cases?
These are all things that you could probably get pretty passionate about right? These are the types of jobs that would make you want to jump out of your bed in the morning and speed to work I think.
The only problem is that, these jobs seem like a far-fetched dream to you. Like something that's completely out of your reach. It's meant for somebody else in your mind.
You're absolutely right if that's how you think about it. Or you can think the alternative.
The alternative is that you can think about it the way that the guy who's in the position you crave to be in thought about it. He thought, "I like medical stuff, and I really enjoy helping people in need, so I think I'll do whatever it takes so that I can become a doctor".
Or the 25-year-old kid who's brushing fingerprints and trying to find forensic clues, because she watched CSI, decided to go to school and learn about it, and now she's doing it.
You see, these people didn’t' think it was out of their reach, they thought why the heck not. If someone else is doing it so can I.
Now you're thinking that school is too expensive. It is. But there are loans, grants, and Online Education Programs that you can pay for in smaller chunks.
Time constraint? Night school, weekend classes, and again Online Education.
Here's the deal. You'll always be able to think of a ton of excuses why you can't. I don't even know you and I can list a ton of excuses for you. But, you can also ignore all of those excuses, and just make it happen for yourself.
So, here's how to find your dream career.
Figure out what you're passionate about. Basically what you like to do. Find out what career would mesh well with that passion. Figure out what skills and education you need to get started, and get yourself signed up as fast as you can before you even have time to think of excuses.
One more thought. Just being in school, or in training, knowing that you're on your way to your dream, and immersing yourself into that environment will make your crappy job that you hate all that much easier.
